What is Self-Defense?
Self-defense is a set of awareness, assertiveness, verbal confrontation skills, safety strategies, and physical techniques that enable someone to successfully escape, resist, and survive attacks. A good self-defense class provides psychological awareness and verbal skills, not just physical training.

Must I train for years to learn to defend myself?
No. This workshop offers enough concepts and skills to help you develop self-protection strategies that you can continue to build upon. Self-defense is not martial arts training. It does not require years of study to perfect.

What am I going to learn?
In this workshop, our instructor Sam will teach tools that are simple to execute for enhanced personal safety. This includes mental and physical preparation, basic evasion, blocks / redirection, and a few of the most effective striking techniques.

Sam will also cover defense against common chokes and holds. Each person that takes this workshop will gain access to an exclusive digital manual where they can review all the material covered during class.

Who will be teaching us?
Sam Jusino is a certified Self-Defense Instructor, Muay Thai Trainer, and International Karate champion. He is from New York and now resides in Pacific Beach, CA.

Sam is passionate about martial arts and has trained and competed for 15+ years across Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, and the USA.
